SOFTWARE FOR 80 COLUMN PUNCHED CARDS

CARDAMATION offers a variety of software packages to support its equipment. Among them are programs to read or punch 80 column cards and manipulate the data as it is punched and/or printed onto the cards.

We also have a number of specialized data entry and retrieval packages:

CARDPRO

The affordable PC-based Aperture Card File Manager and Inventory Database System.

WHO SHOULD USE CARDPRO?

Everyone with an aperture card file of ANY size to create a PC database of what is actually in your archives--for use in your department.

CARDPRO's BENEFITS:

1. CARDPRO creates a PC-based inventory of your cards (by simply reading them into a PC file using a CARDAMATION desktop Reader at speeds up to 30,000 per hour.

2. You can find out what cards really exist in your archive - lost drawings can be a huge problem and duplicates are simply wasted space which means wasted money.

3. It keeps track of all the cards - updating revisions, checking them in and out of the file to users, locating misfiled cards and eliminating duplicates.

4. Information about any card can be displayed instantly, either on-demand on the screen, or in a printed summary report format.

5. Organizes and sorts large card libraries with millions of cards as easily as it handles small files. Provides tracking of cards in and out of the file by user or department ID's.

6. Unlike off-the-computer-store-shelf database programs, CARDPRO comes custom tailored for your card format(s). And, unlike $50,000 programs like Quadra Star which require daily customer support via modem and special Sun workstations, CARDPRO is operational from Day One on any IBM-PC/386/486/PENTIUM with the minimum specs described later.

CARDPRO FEATURES
1. In the basic software program, CARDPRO's screen displays the fields which MIL-STD-804, latest revision, requires to be on a card. This includes drawing number, revision level, and other data. CARDPRO can also be customized for your special card formats.

2. CARDPRO can track a card's location, such as a drawer or section number. This gives a user instant knowledge of out-of-order cards, and tells a user where to look for a misfiled card.

3. Provides security, allowing only pre-authorized users to make changes to the database. All other users or terminals are limited to a view and print-only mode.

4. Allows authorized users to add new records, edit exisitng records and delete out-of-date records from the database. Accepts SCII input from a CARDAMATION Card Reader or LAN or other magnetic or optical media.

5. Sorts records into ascending or descending order, based on the fields you choose.

6. Checks cards in and out of the file and lets you know if another user has requested that card.

7. Searches for individual cards or groups of cards, and displays all matching records one-by-one on the screen.

8. Locates and deletes all exact duplicates from the database. CARDPRO will generate a report of the location of all duplicates so that the user can remove duplicate cards from the drawers.

9. Updates the database with the latest revision. Archives the older revision in a special file, which may be user-deleted. (Revision information is presumed to be found in columns 26 and 27 of the card and will be based on ascending alpha characters, unless otherwise requested.)

10. Allows additonal database fields to be added to the 80 byte card record.

11. Produces ands prints summary reports about your card file and can export ASCII files for transmission over a local area network or to a mainframe.

CUSTOM FEATURES such as multiple card formats and advanced card tracking (checks cards in and out of your files) as well as any others are available upon request.
